How do I register?

The registration details and the relevant fee then needs to be sent to the assessment centre. As part of the registration process, the centre will then ask you to complete a standard questionnaire to help establish your previous experience and qualifications. Candidates must provide copies of qualifications and Photo Identification (e.g. Driving Licence, Passport, or JIB/CSCS Card).

All candidates should be appropriately qualified electrotechnical craftspersons as defined within the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and will be expected to sign a declaration to that effect. No award under this scheme will be made to any candidate unless they are so registered with CompEx. Should an individual wish to undertake the training who does not possess the minimum qualifications, the local centre must ensure that, as far as is reasonably practicable, the candidate will derive personal benefit from completing the training course and/or related assessments, and that the scheme outcomes are relevant to them and achievable.

However, CompEx Certificates of Core Competence will only be issued where candidates have satisfactorily completed the unit assessment(s), and when they have signed the self-declaration of eligibility for training on the application form to affirm that they are electrically competent. Candidates not meeting these criteria will only be awarded an appropriate certificate.
